(FRENCH LICK) - A recreation resort is giving the public a unique chance to see and even “pamper” real-life African elephants.
Circus history is deep rooted in French Lick with the Hagenbeck-Wallace circus once owned by Ed Ballard.
The African elephant herd of three girls will be retreating at Wilstem Ranch through the summer. The will return to Florida their winter home in October.
A fun, informative, educational seminar will consist of a one hour experience including a wagon ride from the famous "big red barn" to the upper pasture for the seminar and a wagon ride back to the barn while the girls head out to graze.
An even more intimate two hour experience is available which allows visitors to participate in bath time, exercise stroll and snack time.
This one of a kind up-close encounter is a rare and wonderful opportunity to learn more about these amazing creatures and connect with them in a tranquil environment.
Both seminar options take place daily Tuesday thru Sunday. Available educational seminars take place at 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. for $25 per person. Spa appointments take place at 9:30 a.m and 3 p.m. for $59 for adults and $49 for children 12 and under. Ages 2 and under are free.
