(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County Sheriff Mike Branham says the Indiana Sheriff’s Association plans to award about 40 scholarships to high school seniors and college students pursuing criminal justice degrees.
Applications are due on or before April 1.
To qualify for the $500 scholarships, students have to be a Indiana resident, a current member of the Indiana Sheriff's Association (or a child or grandchild of a member), attend an Indiana college or university and pursuing a major in a law enforcement field as a full time student with 12 college hours a semester.
Applications are available from school counselors, the sheriff's office or by mailing the Indiana Sheriff's Association, 147 E. Maryland St., Indianapolis, IN 46204-3608, to request an application. It also can be downloaded from www.indianasheriffs.org.
