(BLOOMINGTON) - A 25-year-old man died after possibly overdosing on heroin in his best friend’s car Sunday evening.
According to Bloomington Police, officers were called to Monroe Hospital after a report of a possible overdose just after 7 p.m. Sunday.
Officials say Logan Chalfant of Spencer died at the hospital before police arrived.
According to Bloomington Police Sgt. Joe Crider, Chalfant had been hanging out with is best friend on the east side of town. The two had went to the grocery store. The friend went inside, leaving Chalfant in the car. When he returned, he found Chalfant unresponsive. Suspecting Chalfant has used heroin his friend drove him to the hospital.
Monroe County Coroner Nicole Meyer said an autopsy was conducted Monday, but those and toxicology results are pending.
Sgt. Crider says officers did find a needle during their death investigation.
