Two Injured After Truck Flips

Last updated on Tuesday, March 29, 2016

(FAYETTEVILLE) - Two men were injured after the driver of the vehicle lost control in a curve and flipped the vehicle, Saturday night.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 18-year-old Dillon Burton of Bedford was traveling east on Ind. 450 and was entering an S curve too fast when he lost control of his 1994 Ford F150, just past Fayetteville Williams Road.

Police say Burton over-corrected causing the truck to leave the roadway on the north side of the road. The vehicle traveled around 40 feet past the intersection and then another 90 feet before striking a tree on the passenger front side. The truck then re-entered the roadway and traveled another 30 feet when the wheels caught in the ground and caused the truck to flip trapping both Burton and his 18-year-old passenger Adam Stinson inside the truck.

Both men had to be freed from the vehicle.

Burton complained of chest pain and was taken to Methodist Hospital. Stinson suffered a broken arm and was taken to Riley Hospital for Children.
