(BEDFORD) - A Bedford teen suffered possible internal injuries and pelvis pain after she lost control of her 2000 Pontiac Sunfire on U.S. 50 near Stove Road Sunday evening.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 18-year-old Nikita Sullivan of Bedford had to be freed from the wreckage by a Bedford Fire Department extrication team and was then flown by Air Evac helicopter to U of L Hospital for treatment.
Police say that Sullivan was traveling west on U.S. 50 when she lost control of her Sunfire and went off the north side of the road. She then over-corrected causing the car to spin around and travel in reverse. The car left the roadway again striking a culvert causing the car to go airborne and strike a REMC utility pole while airborne. The vehicle then spun around landing on its top.
Sullivan told police she couldn't remember what happened.
