(BLOOMINGTON) - The most recent response to Bloomingfoods Co-op’s financial hardships has come in the form of yet another closure — the Elm Heights store will close next month.
The Herald Times reports that the grocery co-op's board of directors and general manager announced Tuesday night that the Elm Heights location will close in May.
Built on the site of the old K&S Country Market, which closed in 2007, the Elm Heights store at 614 E. Second St. opened in August 2013. The board decided to close the Elm Heights location after seeing significant under-performance since its opening.
The announcement comes after a series of money-saving measures -- including the closure of the eastside garden center -- that took place last summer.
