(SPRINGVILLE) - A Bloomington teen was injured after she lost control of her car on Springville Judah Road Tuesday evening.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 18-year-old Rebecca Nicholson was traveling west - southwest on Springville Judah Road when her 1995 BMW began began fishtailing. Police say Nicholson then lost control of the vehicle.
Nicholson told police that she had just put new brakes on the vehicle and she thinks she pressed on them too hard.
The vehicle traveled left of center and ran off the southeast side of the road and collided with a tree causing the vehicle to spin back onto the roadway. The vehicle then went off the northwest side of the road where it stopped.
Police say the roads were wet from a recent rain.
Nicholson suffered a bump on the back of her head, but told rescue crews she was in no pain. She was taken by ambulance to Monroe County Hospital to be evaluated.
Assisting at the scene was an IU Health Hospital ambulance and Perry Volunteer Fire Department
