Brown County High School Student Dies

(BROWN CO.) - A Brown County High School student died as a result of suicide this past Friday morning.

Brown County Schools Superintendent David Shaffers says the girl was a sophomore and had been a Brown County Schools student since grade school.

According to police, emergency responders were called to the girl's home just after 6:30 a.m.

"We extend our deepest sympathy to (her) family and friends," Shaffer said in a press release.

Counselors were at the school on Friday and will be there this week to help students and staff deal with the incident.
