(BEDFORD) - The cause of a fire that damaged a Bedford home is still under investigation, but firefighters believe the fire started in the kitchen area.
The fire was reported around 2 p.m. at 508 Sixth Street on Friday afternoon.
When Bedford firefighters arrived smoke was billowing out of the home with strong winds impeding firefighter's efforts.
Battalion Chief John Dixon says the owners were out of town.
Firefighters were at the scene until about 4:30 p.m.
