(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man was arrested Monday after police say he was harassing and threatened a woman.
Bedford Police arrested 20-year-old Jonathan Hattabaugh Sunday night on a warrant charging him with a Level 6 felony of intimidation and a Class B misdemeanor of harassment.
According to a Lawrence County Superior Court probable cause affidavit police began their investigation on March 3 after a woman told police Hattabaugh had threatened her.
The woman told police she been in a relationship with Hattabaugh and that it had ended because he was physically abusive.
The woman filed a protective order against Hattabaugh, but it had not been served before the woman began receiving threatening text messaged and threatening messages on Facebook under an account he created under the name of Alex King after the woman had blocked him under his original Facebook account.
The threats started after the woman ended the relationship and told Hattabaugh to get his belongings from her home.
In his responses, Hattabaugh called the woman names and threatened "You getting your throat slit. Watch out. ... Be scared."
Hattabaugh admitted to creating the second Facebook account so he could contact the woman and that he had sent the messages.
