(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington and Indiana University Police are gearing up for the Little 500 Men’s race on Saturday.
Officers say the most common crimes they respond to during the event to involve alcohol, drug use, and disturbances.
Police say more than 25,000 people will be in town for the annual bicycle race.
IUPD Lt. Craig Munroe says extra officers will be on patrol.
Bloomington Police Department Capt. Steven Kellams says students should be extra cautious while celebrating this weekend and should always travel in groups for safety.
