(MITCHELL) - Six people were injured in a three-vehicle accident on Ind. 60 West Saturday evening.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 73-year-old Sandra Williams of Mitchell was traveling west on Ind. 60 and was attempting to slow to make a left turn into a drive in the 6066 block of Ind. 60 when a 2008 Pontiac driven by 19-year-old Madelyn Slaubaugh of Orleans struck the rear of Williams' 1997 Buick LeSabre.
Upon impact, Williams' car traveled 260 feet and stopped in the front yard in the 6030 block of Ind. 60.
Slaubaugh's car began to spin and the rear of the vehicle traveled into the eastbound lane of Ind. 60 and make impact with a 2002 Dodge Ram pickup driven by 65-year-old Samuel Alton, of Loogootee.
After striking Alton's truck, Slaubaugh's car spun three to four times and stopped in the eastbound lane of Ind. 60.
Slaubaugh complained of chest pain, but refused treatment.
Sandra Williams had minor bleeding to her head. Her passengers, Olivia William and MaKayla Tincher, complained of pain. All three refused medical treatment.
Samuel Alton complained of abdomen and pelvis pain and his passenger Joyce Spears, also of Loogootee, complained of leg and foot pain. Both were taken by a Seals ambulance to IU Bloomington Hospital.
