(MITCHELL) - Organizations, families and businesses can “adopt” parts of Spring Mill State Park through a new volunteer program.
The Centennial Adoption Program encourages groups to adopt a building in the park's Pioneer Village, adopt a trail or adopt a landscape.
The group must commit to one season of service and complete a minimum amount of volunteer hours to complete the adoption. Once the adoption is complete, the park will recognize the group on its Facebook page and on an announcement flier at a bulletin board near the adopted area.
To learn about adoptable areas, and for more information, contact volunteer coordinator Coletta Prewitt at (812) 849-3534 or springmillstatepark@dnr.IN.gov.
