(SPRINGVILLE) - A Springville teen suffered facial abrasions after he swerved the vehicle he was driving on Ind. 58 to miss a dog on the roadway. This action caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and flip several times.
Lawrence County Police were alerted about the accident at 9:30 p.m. Monday.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, the 16-year-old male was traveling west on Ind. 58 after leaving Oolitic around 65 miles per hour when he says a dog ran into the path of the 1996 Oldsmobile Regency.
The boy told police that he swerved to miss the dog and over-corrected losing control of the car, causing it to run off the roadway and roll a couple of times before landing upright near the creek.
The boy was taken from the scene by his parents to IU Health Hospital after he suffered facial injuries.
