(RIPLEY CO.) - A semi driver from Martin County was involved in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday in Ripley County that resulted in three deaths.
Indiana State Police Sgt. Stephen Wheeles says the crash killed 31-year-old Margaret A. Guinn, 3-year-old Aaliyah Guinn and the car's driver, 31-year-old Andre Devant, all of Cincinnati. Ohio. Each were pronounced dead at the scene along U.S. 50 near Versailles, about 40 miles west of Cincinnati.
Wheeles says the driver of the semitrailer, 37-year-old Alexander K. Benge of Shoals, was also injured but was released after being treated at a local hospital.
According to police, Devant pulled into the path of the semitrailer, which then struck the passenger side of the car. Both vehicles rolled over during the incident.
The highway was closed for nearly 10 hours for investigation and cleanup.
