(HELTONVILLE) - Two people were injured and a child was taken to the hospital to be medically checked after a one-vehicle accident on Todd Lane near North Shawswick Station Road on Wednesday evening.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 21-year-old Mary Card was traveling on Todd Lane and swerved her 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix to avoid a brown object in the roadway. The vehicle went off the south side of the road and struck a tree. The vehicle then rolled on its top and stopped in the middle of the road.
Mary and her passenger, 23-year-old Harold Card, were not wearing their seat belts during the incident.
Mary complained of chest, abdomen and leg pain. Harold complained of shoulder and arm pain. Gabriella Card was not injured but was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation. All three were taken by ambulance to IU Health Hospital for treatment.
