(BEDFORD) - The Wiley Art Gallery will host a show by artist Don Geyra, opening with a public reception on Friday, April 22, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
After an artistic career in New York, Don returned to Indiana, where he continues to paint and encourage artists in all mediums. He is vice president of the Lawrence County Art Association.
Regarding fine art, Don says, "In my painting I try to enhance our appreciation of the commonplace. Using design, light play and often multiple canvases, I search for new vantage points and try to capture the pure moment when we first see something."
Geyra's reception on April 25 offers an opportunity for fine art lovers to meet a uniquely talented artist. Geyra works in oil and watercolor, decorative painting, faux finishing, and scenic arts for the home and entertainment industry. Titled "Adventure in Painting, the Wiley show will feature new works from Geyra that celebrate Indiana.
The Wiley Art Center is located at 14th and J Streets in downtown Bedford. Hours are Thursdays and Fridays 1 to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Geyra's show will continue through May 21.
