(BEDFORD) - A Bedford woman was arrested early this morning after she went to a male’s apartment intoxicated and then punched him in the face, hit him with a belt and then hit him in the back of the head with a rock.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers went to the apartment just after 2 a.m. in the 1100 block of M Street after the man came to the police station to report the battery.
The man told police 24-year-old Amanda Lane was intoxicated and the two got into an argument and she had punched him in the face, struck him with a belt and as he turned to walk away hit him in the back of the head with a rock. Police say the attack happened in front of a 3-year-old child.
Witnesses at the scene confirmed the man's version of events.
When police arrived they found Lane had broken a window at the apartment and destroyed property inside the apartment.
Lane was arrested on charges of domestic battery in the presence of a minor and taken to jail.
Once at the jail, during a body search, jail officers found Lane had hid a baggie of marijuana inside a body cavity.
She was then charged with trafficking with an inmate and possession of marijuana.
