(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police arrested a man early Sunday morning at Brothers Bar and Grill after police say he assaulted multiple employees while defending another man who was urinating off the bar’s upper level onto the crowd below.
Police were called to Brothers Bar and Grill after a report of a fight outside of the North Walnut Street restaurant.
Employees reported an intoxicated man had urinated over the side of the bar's upper level onto other bar patrons, and Brothers security attempted to stop him when 23-year-old Matthew S. Harvey, of Bloomington, assaulted a staff member and attempted to leave the bar with the other man.
While police tried to detain the unidentified man who had urinated on customers outside the bar, Harvey "sucker punched" another Brothers employee.
The unidentified man was able to flee the scene while police detained Harvey.
Harvey was arrested on two preliminary charges of battery. He was booked into the Monroe County Jail.
One Brothers employee sought medical treatment for minor injuries.
