(ODON) - An Oaktown man spent the night in the Daviess County Security Center after being caught with illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia in his possession.
At 11:52 p.m. Tuesday, Indiana State Trooper Mitch Wier noticed a silver Chrysler 300 sedan traveling south on Grove Street in Odon, down the middle of the roadway.
The trooper pulled over the vehicle and spoke to the driver 36-year-old Charles L. Jones, Jr. of Oaktown. During the course of the traffic stop, the trooper requested Daviess County Deputy Tyler Ramsey and his K9 partner Storm to conduct an open-air search around the vehicle. Storm alerted police to possible drugs inside the vehicle.
Officers searched the vehicle finding multiple scales and crystal meth wrapped in a rag. They then found two additional baggies of meth and a glass smoking pipe fell from Jones's pant leg.
Officers later learned Jones was on his way to a residence in Odon to deliver the meth prior to being pulled over.
Jones was arrested on charges of possession and dealing meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, false informing and maintaining a common nuisance and taken to the Daviess County Security Center without incident.
