(SALEM) - Police have arrested a Salem man on a charge of attempted murder.
37-year-old Ken Ross Anderson was arrested Saturday morning, according to Washington County Sheriff Roger Newlon.
Police say Anderson allegedly fired shots at a vehicle on Saturday morning in Washington County.
The alleged shooting happened on Voyles Road, just south of State Road 60. A call about the shooting was received around 5:45 a.m.
Authorities say the alleged victim was traveling north on Voyles Road and came up behind Anderson's vehicle and stopped.
Officials say that when both vehicles were stopped, Anderson allegedly fired several shots at the victim. No one was injured during the incident.
Investigators say Anderson and the alleged victim did not know each other, and the shooting does not appear to have been provoked.
Newlon says that while both vehicles were stopped on Voyles Road, a third vehicle went around both the victim and Anderson. Police say the victim believes another shot may have been fired at the vehicle that passed.
If anyone has any information about the incident or the third vehicle, please contact the Washington County Sheriff's Department at (812) 883-5999.
