(SEYMOUR) - The Indiana Department of Transportation is conducting regional meetings for city, town and county officials to learn about new funding opportunities for local roads and bridges.
That includes sessions from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and from 1 to 2:30 p.m. today at the INDOT Seymour District Office at 185 Agrico Lane.
Statewide, cities, towns and counties have received $430 million in local option income tax distributions that may be used to improve roads and bridges. In addition, INDOT is launching a Local Road and Bridge Matching Grant Fund to provide $168 million in matching funding over the next two years to local governments submitting qualifying projects.
The new funding is in addition to the more than $200 million INDOT provides each year to cities, towns and counties through the agency's federal aid program.
