(BEDFORD) - Two people were arrested Sunday after they pulled into the path of a Bedford Police officer at 16th and H streets Sunday night.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, an officer was traveling on 16th Street when a vehicle shot into his path of travel, causing the officer to slam on his brakes.
The officer followed the vehicle into the Circle K parking lot.
"The driver, a male with no shirt, raced to the back of the lot," Chief Parsley says. "As the officer pulled behind them, the male was switching places with a female passenger."
The officers discovered 31-year-old David Cobb of Mitchell was driving on a suspended driver's license with a prior conviction.
The officer then received consent to search the vehicle and found a zipper bag that contained meth, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Officers arrested Cobb on charges of driving while his driver's license was suspended with a prior conviction, possession of marijuana and visiting a common nuisance and was cited for failing to yield the right of way.
His passenger, 41-year-old Angela McAuley was arrested on charges of possession of meth and marijuana, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
