(LINTON) - The A.M. Risher Swimming Pool in Linton is offering Free Swim Sunday.
Area businesses and city leaders are sponsoring the 11 Free Swim Sundays, which opens the pool up for no-charge swimming from 3-6 p.m. each Sunday until Aug. 7.
The pool is open Monday through Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
Pool board member Jathan Wright, who also serves as the City of Linton's Clerk-Treasurer, told the Greene County Daily World the board was trying to find a way to keep the pool open on Sundays with it being the slowest day of the week.
The board discussed finding business sponsors for the three-hour time period to not only keep the pool open during that time frame, but to give those who may not be able to afford it a chance to utilize the pool.

The concession stands will be open during the Free Swim Sundays, which offers items like pizza, bread sticks, hot dogs, ice cream and more.
The daily charge for the pool is $4. A family pass for a family of four at a cost of $140, with an additional $10 per family member. Student passes are $70.
The pool offers a mid-season pass after July 1 for $35. Punch cards are available for $65, which includes 20 punches. There is a special rate of $1 per day for children under the age of 6.
A pool party is $125 for up to 50 swimmers, and an additional $15 for each additional 50 swimmers.
