(MITCHELL) - The Mitchell City Council passed a resolution Monday authorizing Administrative Resources association the city’s grant-writing firm to submit grants to the United States Department of Transportation and Indiana Department of Transportation in the city’s behalf.
The Times-Mail reports the city's transit program is both state and federally funded.
Federal funding will account for just more than $50,052 this year, which is up about 3 percent from the previous year, with state money adding another $17,847, which is the same amount the city received for this year.
Grant funding accounts for a majority of the cost of the city's transit service.
