Greene County 4-H Fair Kicks Off Saturday

(BLOOMFIELD) - According to Malea Huffman, County Extension Director of the Purdue Extension, the fair will start with a tractor driving contest at the northeast field.
There will be three events for the tractor driving contest including agriculture tractors, lawn and garden tractors and z-turn tractors.
The contests will involve varying courses for the contestants to drive on.
Winners from the tractor competition will move onto an area competition in August.
The dog show on Saturday will consist of obedience demonstrations, agility competition and costume competition.
On Sunday, there will be a rifle match taking place on the southwest corner of the fairgrounds.
On Tuesday, there will be a cat show at 6:30 p.m. in the community building and a fashion revue Wednesday morning.
Private evaluations for the fashion revue will be held at 8:30 a.m. for grades eight to 12 and 9 a.m. for grades three to seven. The public revue will take place at 7 p.m., where awards will be presented.

- 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.: Project check-in, free bracelet for 4-H members-Community building (see Leaders)
Saturday, July 9
- 6 a.m. - noon: Animal check in
- 8 a.m. - 9 a.m.: Cook-off check-in
- 9 a.m. - noon: Open Class Fair check-in, Community building
- Noon - 2 p.m.: Poultry and rabbit check-in
- 1 p.m. - 9 p.m.: Community building open to view projects
- 4 p.m.: Registration for car show
- 4 p.m.: Junior Leader ice cream social, outside of Community building
- 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.: Community building open
- 5 p.m.: Car show
- 5 p.m.: Live bands, free, north of barns (bring lawn chairs/blankets)
- 6 p.m.: Tractor Pull, admission for adults, $10; ages 7-12, $5; 6 and under free, $4 for4Her's with bracelet
Sunday, July 10
- To compete in 4-H Beef, Goat, Rabbit, Sheep and Swine Shows, MINI's must be enrolled in 4-H and completed kindergarten to second grade.
- 9 a.m.: Dairy goat show
- 1 p.m.: B.E.S.T. Mural Dedication--West Entry, 2016 Indiana Bicentennial Project
- 2 p.m.: Mini 4-H Barn Tours offered by Jr. Leaders, meet by announcers booth in arena
- 1 p.m. - 9 p.m.: Community building open to view 4-H projects
- 4 p.m.: Beef Market show
- 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.: Commercial building open
- 5:30 p.m.: 4-H Meat goat show
- 7 p.m.: ATV (side by side), outdoor arena, $10 per person
Monday, July 11
- 8 a.m. - 9 p.m.: Community building open
- 8 a.m.: 4-H Poultry showmanship and egg judging
- 8 a.m.: 4-H Horse and pony show (both arenas)
- 8 a.m. - 10 a.m.: 4-H Rabbit showmanship
- 4:30 p.m.: 4-H Swine show
- 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.: Commercial building open
