(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man was arrested on drug charges after Mitchell Police Department stopped him for a traffic violation Saturday afternoon.
Police arrested 37-year-old Robert Atkins on charges of possession of meth, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, maintaining a common nuisance and driving with a suspended driver's license with a prior conviction.
Shortly after 3:00 p.m. Saturday, a Mitchell officer witnessed Atkins driving a vehicle on Eighth Street and Hancock Avenue, knowing Atkins did not have a driver's license.
After stopping the vehicle, the officer arrested Atkins for driving with a suspended license with a prior conviction. While searching Atkin's pocket officers found the controlled substance. They located the meth inside the vehicle.
