(MORGANTOWN) - There is a new town marshal in Morgantown.
Jeff Deckard will lead a force of two full-time officers and three or four reserve officers.
The Brown County Democrat reports Deckard, who was serving as the transportation director for Brown County Schools, took the job because he wanted to go back into law enforcement while still working in a small community. He the former state police trooper is familiar with Morgan County.
Deckard's first task will be reviewing how Morgantown's officers spend most of their hours, and determining if there are ways to improve the way they're working with the community.
