(BEDFORD) - Starting today, those listening to Super Oldies 105.5 WQRK will receive clues on where to find the lucky pot of gold filled with 150 gold coins worth $150 at the Oolitic Festival next weekend.
The clue will be given by DJ Rick St. Nick between 8-10 a.m. each day until the treasure is found.
If the treasure hasn't been found by Friday, more clues will be announced throughout the evening at the festival until someone finds it.
The giveaway fits right in with this year's theme "The Year Of Giving."
"Besides the $150 we're giving away, we've bought bikes and all kinds of prizes for kids and adults," says Festival Committee Chairman Glenn Gross. "There is no cost to participate in the contests. We want people to come to the festival, enjoy themselves and being part of the community. Our festival is totally self-funded. We put on the Haunted School every year and that is our biggest money maker that allows us to put on the festival."
Activities on Saturday include amusements, a play area for kids, basketball tournament, baby contest and parade.
Grand marshals seven Marine Reserve veteran all from Oolitic: Veterans Dennis Lackey, Bill Blackwell, Terry Graves, Ronnie Blackburn, and Mike Strunk will ride in Jeeps in the parade. The festival will posthumously honor veterans Jack Chorley and Charles Lee Turner.
