(MITCHELL) - Three people were injured in a four-vehicle crash at the intersection of Ind. 37 and Ind. 60 West.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, the accident happened at just after 9 p.m. Sunday.
Police say 76-year-old Raymond Osborn, of Paoli, was turning northwest from Ind. 37 to Ind. 60 West in his 2008 Chevrolet Uplander and had the right of way.
At the same time, 81-year-old Cecil Melton, of Mitchell, driving a 1996 Ford F150 was traveling east on Ind. 60 West and failed to stop for the red light, entered the intersection and struck Osborn's Uplander. The Uplander stopped in the northbound turn lane of Main Street.
Melton's pickup then struck a 2008 Pontiac driving by 20-year-old Devin Nicholson, of Oolitic.
At the same time, 16-year-old Cody Williams, of Mitchell, was stopped in the westbound lane of Main Street. The collision forced Osborn's Uplander east colliding with Williams 2009 Chevy Colbalt.
Raymond Osborn complained of body pain and was taken by a Seals ambulance to IU Health Hospital for treatment. His passenger, 73-year-old Jane Osborn suffered internal injuries and was flown to Methodist Hospital.
Cecil Melton suffered a spinal injury and was taken by an IU Health Hospital ambulance to IU Health Hospital and he was then transferred to Methodist Hospital for treatment.
Devin Nicholson and Cody Williams and his passenger were evaluated at the scene but refused to go to the hospital.
