(DUBOIS CO.) - Two 17-year-old females were transported to Dubois County from Vanderburgh County to face felony charges of robbery. They both will be charged as adults.
According to the Dubois County Sheriff's Department, officers were called to the 500 block of South State Road 162 during the early morning hours of May 23 after a report of a robbery and assault.
According to the two male victims, they had met the two females through an Internet site and invited them to their home near Bretzville. The four were talking on the front porch when two black men approached the group and struck one of the males in the head with a baseball bat. During the attack, the other male victim was hit in the face and arm with the baseball bat.
The second black male pulled a shotgun out and demanded money from the male victim. The victim handed several hundred dollars over to the man. Then, the two females and two males left the home traveling south on State Road 162.
The two male victims were taken to Memorial Hospital. The male victim who was hit in the head was then taken by LifeFlight to another hospital for treatment.
On Tuesday, the two 17-year-olds females were arrested in Vanderburgh County. One is charged with a Level 2 felony count of inducing/aiding robbery resulting in serious bodily injury and the other is charged with a Level 3 felony count of inducing/aiding robbery resulting in bodily injury. State law says because of the seriousness of the crime the two will be charged as adults.
Police are not releasing their names at this time until they appear in court.
They were transferred to the Dubois County Security Center on Wednesday.
The two black males have not been arrested yet.
The investigation is ongoing.
