(SEYMOUR) - A traffic stop Sunday afternoon near Seymour landed two men from Kentucky in jail after police found cocaine, marijuana, guns and cash.
The driver of the vehicle, 54-year-old John Foree Jr., of Frankfort, Kentucky, faces felony charges of dealing in cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of a handgun by a serious violent felon and maintaining a common nuisance. He also faces misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A passenger in the vehicle, 67-year-old Kenneth Satterly, of New Castle, Kentucky, faces misdemeanor charges of possession of a handgun without a permit and possession of marijuana.
The two were arrested after Indiana State Police made a traffic stop at 4:40 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 65 near the Seymour exit.
According to ISP Trooper Randel Miller, he stopped a Dodge Ram truck traveling southbound for having expired license plates.
During the traffic stop Miller witnessed numerous indicators of criminal activity and obtained probable cause to search the vehicle. During the search Miller found more than 10 grams of cocaine, nearly 300 grams of marijuana, two handguns and nearly $1,500 in U.S. currency.
Both Foree and Satterly were transported to the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown.
Miller was assisted by Trooper Zachariah Ruble and Cpl. Jason Alberring and Officer Gilbert Carpenter with the Seymour Police Department.
