(MITCHELL) - A West Baden Springs man was flown from a crash scene Monday on State Road 37 in Mitchell.
According to a Mitchell Police report, 33-year-old Levi Cruz suffered internal injuries and injuries to his back, neck and legs.
Cruz was a passenger in a 2000 Toyota Corolla driven by 34-year-old Jessica Duncan of Paoli. She was also injured and taken by a Seals ambulance to a local hospital.
The accident happened at 5:25 p.m.
Duncan was traveling southbound on State Road 37 when she failed to yield the right of way to a northbound vehicle at the intersection of Ind. 37 and Main Street.
Witnesses told police that following the accident that the driver of the second vehicle got out to grab a lawn tool that had fallen out of the pickup truck. The male driver then got back into the 2001 Chevrolet pickup, on the passenger side and had the passenger move into the driver's seat.
Police asked the man whether he had switched seats with the passenger and he admitted that he had.
The driver during the crash, 31-year-old Coleman Maple of Evansville, was cited for driving with a suspended license.
