(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man, who was wanted on warrants, was arrested Thursday after a Lawrence County Police detective spotted him at Walmart.
24-year-old James Hedrick of Bedford is facing new charges of possession of meth, a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and warrants for failure to appear and two counts of counterfeiting.
While being arrested he told police that he had a "loaded syringe in his back pocket."
The detective found a second syringe, a metal spoon, a knife, a chrome-plated socket that smelled like burnt marijuana, an empty Suboxone package, a clear baggie containing 1.61 grams of crystal meth and a prescription pill, which police later identified as morphine.
The liquid substance in the syringe was sent to the Indiana State Police lab for testing.
