(BEDFORD) - A Bloomington couple was arrested after a traffic stop Sunday night.
According to Lawrence County Sheriff Mike Branham, a patrol captain was on routine patrol at 10:50 p.m. when he saw a driver, 37-year-old Jason Frields, disregard a stop light while traveling east at Fifth Street and Lincoln Avenue.
Once stopped the officer determined Frields had a suspended driver's license along with his wife Karna Frields and an unnamed passenger.
The officer also determined Jason Frields was wanted on a warrant in Monroe County.
Due to no one having a valid driver's license, the vehicle was impounded and inventoried.
During that inventory officers found a white powdery substance that field tested positive for meth, a Suboxone package that contained a partial strip , a spoon that tested positive for meth residue and dozens of used syringes.
Both Jason and Karna Frields were arrested on charges of possession of meth, possession of a controlled substance and maintaining maintaining a common nuisance.
Jason Frields was also arrested on the outstanding warrant and cited for multiple infractions including driving while his driver's license was suspended with a prior conviction, false and fictitious registration, and disregarding an automatic signal.
The other passenger was not charged.
