(SPRINGVILLE) - A 4-year-old boy was injured after the vehicle he was a passenger in crashed into a tree Saturday night.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, Austin Patton suffered abrasions to the face and a contusion below his eye. Austin was wearing a seatbelt during the incident.
At 9:55 p.m., 30-year-old Joshua S. Patton was traveling northwest on Reuter Lane near Peters Lane in his 1984 Ford F-150, when he lost control of the truck on the wet roadway as he entered a 90-degree corner. The vehicle went off the roadway and struck a tree.
Patton did not suffer any visible injuries, but according to the report Patton and the child were taken by a personal vehicle to Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital for treatment.
