(KENRAY LAKE) - A fire destroyed a mobile home at 210 Shores Lane Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters from Shawswick, Pleasant Run, Guthrie, Indian Creek and Carr Township were called to the scene at 2:09 p.m. battled the blaze for hours.
"It was a difficult fire to fight. It was fully involved when we arrived," says Shawswick VFD firefighter Bobby Brown.
The owner Jeffrey Sebree, a veteran firefighter for Guthrie VFD, was taking a shower and when he got out and noticed the back of the home was on fire. He fled the burning building.
Firefighters had a difficult time putting out the fire because it had a structure attached.
"It had two roofs and other layers making it difficult to get into the fire," Brown added.
Firefighters also had to battle the heat as the outside temperature soared to more than 91 degrees.
"The heat added to the difficulty," Brown says. "No one was injured, but the heat was dangerously high. Firefighters rotated in and out to keep everyone safe."
TOPES and a Seals ambulance crew were on the scene to assist with drinks and a cool place for firefighters to rest.
Sebree did not have insurance on the home.
"Everything is gone," Brown says. "There was so much damage, I don't know if we could determine a cause."
