(GREENE CO.) - Due to the dangerous heat, cooling shelters have been opened in Greene County.
"We have been working with our cities, towns, fire departments and churches to provide shelters between today and Saturday of this week," says Roger Axe, Director of Emergency Management. "When the heat will be excessive and be a threat to life."
The shelter schedule is as follows:
If any churches would like to participate by opening a heat shelter call the Greene County Emergency Management at (812) 384-4127.
"We want to make sure our citizens are safe during this excessive heat," Axe says.
