Man Accused Of Raping Teen Arrested In Spokane

(HUNTINGBURG) - A man wanted for allegedly raping a 17-year-old in Huntingburg was arrested in the State of Washington Tuesday and will be extradited back to the area to face charges.

According to police, 43-year-old Roger Salinas, also known as Jose Ramon Aponte-Rolon, of Huntingburg, is facing 17 charges including seven counts of rape of a minor, two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, four counts of criminal confinement, one count of kidnapping, one count of battery and one count of auto theft.

According to Huntingburg Police on June 6, police and the Dubois County Department of Child Services began their investigation after the teen reported they had been raped multiple times by Salinas from November of 2013 to June of 2016.

Police say Salinas fled the area shortly before the rape was reported. The Dubois County Prosecutor requested a warrant for his arrest.

Police were able to narrow down Salinas' location to a couple of states and with the help of the U.S. Marshals were able to find Salina in Spokane, Washington where he was arrested.

Salinas is faces the following charges:
