(CRANE) - Naval Support Activity Crane is hosting its annual Commodore Run, October 22 at the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Sports Complex just outside the Crane (main) Gate.
In celebration of the installation's 75th anniversary, the event is open to the public with activities for the entire family, including inflatables, a zip line, and a vendor village complete with food sales and goods by local and area artisans.
Anyone interested in participating in either the half-marathon or 5-kilometer run or walk should register before September 24 to guarantee a shirt and medal. The final deadline for registration is October 18. For more about registration, visit the event website www.discovermwr.com/commodorerun.
As for the day of the event, parking is at the WestGate Academy, with shuttles running throughout the day. Runners should arrive between 6 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. to pick up their packets. The half-marathon kicks off at 9 a.m. with the 5K run/walk starting at 9:30 a.m. The award ceremony begins at 11 a.m.
From 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. families can enjoy the other outdoor activities and vendors, with the final shuttle running at 3:30 p.m.
