(MORGAN CO.) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an ATV crash that claimed the life of 30-year-old Brian Tackett of Quincy.
Just after midnight, Monday morning, EMS and law enforcement were called to the 7000 block of Stockwell Road where Tackett and five other ATV riders (family and friends) had been operating.
For an unknown reason, Tackett's Honda ATV left the roadway, struck a fence and then a utility pole.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. Tackett was operating the ATV without a helmet.
Police say, It is unknown at this time if alcohol was a factor, however, speed and lack of protective equipment played a large role in this fatal crash.
Assisting agencies include Morgan County Sheriff Dept., Morgan County Coroner's Office, Monrovia Police Department, Adams VFD and Ashland VFD.
The crash is being investigated by Indiana Conservation Officer Scott Johnson.
