(SALEM) - Salem Fire Department firefighters used water from a swimming pool to extinguish a North Rush Creek house fire Monday morning.
Fire Chief Tom Day says there was just one hydrant across the street, but the driveway back to the home was really long. So firefighters ended up using water from an above-ground swimming pool and water from two of Salem and one of Campbellsburg's department to put out the blaze.
The home, located at 1698 N. Rush Creek Rd., was destroyed.
The home was about two-thirds involved when firefighters arrived at the scene around 7 a.m.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
