(HELTONVILLE) - A Bloomington teen was injured Tuesday night after her 2015 Yamaha motorcycle was struck and the other driver fled the scene.
According to a Lawrence County Police report,at 7:14 p.m. 17-year-old Brittany Georgiev of Bloomington was traveling north on Bartlettsville Road just past Ramsey Ridge Road when an unknown vehicle approached her in a curve at a high-rate of speed.
Georgiev slowed and moved her motorcycle to the outside right edge of the roadway to avoid a collision. That is when the unknown vehicle clipped the handlebars of her motorcycle causing her to lose control of the motorcycle and lay it down on its side.
The unknown vehicle then fled the scene.
Georgiev suffered minor cuts to her knee and injured her left elbow. She was treated at the scene by an IU Health Hospital ambulance crew and Pleasant Run Volunteer Fire Department first responders.
