U.S. 50 Resurfacing Project To Get Underway Aug. 1

Last updated on Tuesday, July 19, 2016

(UNDATED) - Indiana Department of Transportation officials say Milestone Construction will patch a 16-mile section of U.S. Highway 50 between State Road 446 in Lawrence County and a terminus just west of S.R. 135 at Brownstown in Jackson County.

The repair and resurfacing project will cost $2,517,855. Work will begin on August 1.

The contractor's tentative schedule calls for milling U.S. 50's surface pavement August 8-26 and mainline paving August 29-September 16. Crews are slated to work at road and drive approaches September 19-27.

Inclement weather could delay the project's timetable.

During patching, milling and paving operations, motorists traveling U.S. 50 will be directed around worksites by flaggers. Drivers should anticipate experiencing short delays.

The contact's completion date is October 31.

This section of U.S. 50 has a traffic count of 5,790 vehicles per day.
