(DAVIESS CO.) - A traffic stop for driving with excessive speed ended with an Indiana State Trooper jailing the driver on reckless driving and neglect of a dependent charges.
At 9:40 p.m. Friday, Trooper Ross Johnson noticed a 2015 Kia Sportage traveling north along Interstate 69, south of the Washington exit at a high-rate of speed. The trooper clocked the vehicle traveling at 95 miles per hour.
Trooper Johnson stopped the driver 27-year-old Lauren Marks, of Henderson, KY.
The trooper determined Marks was listed as a habitual traffic violator for life. She also had an 8-year-old boy in the vehicle with her.
Marks was arrested on charges of being a habitual traffic violator for life, neglect of a dependent and reckless driving. She was taken to the Daviess County Jail without incident. The boy was cared for by the Department of Child Services until Marks was released from custody.
