(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington woman was arrested after she was driving intoxicated with a child in the vehicle.
According to Bloomington Police Capt. Steve Kellams, the department received several 911 calls Thursday afternoon reporting that the driver of a maroon 2002 Ford Taurus was weaving in traffic and driving off the road. Others callers said the woman had passed out and there were children in the vehicle.
Capt. Kellams say officers found 57-year-old Linda Myers unconscious in the unlocked car, which was parked at the entrance of an apartment complex in the 600 block of East Sherwood Hills Drive, on the city's south side.
Police were unable to get Myers to wake and called for an ambulance to transport her to the hospital. She later told police she had used Spice, a synthetic marijuana.
The two children, a 4-year-old boy and a 1-year-old girl, were found in the backseat of the vehicle. They were not injured and were taken to the police station to meet with officials from the Department of Child Services, who took custody of them.
After being medically cleared at the hospital, Myers was arrested on felony charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and neglect of a dependent.
