(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was injured after a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Sixth and H streets Tuesday night.
According to a Bedford Police report, the accident was reported at 5:54 p.m.
Police say 44-year-old Kristi Kyger of Bedford was traveling south on H Street, while 26-year-old Ethan Terrellof Bedford was traveling east on Sixth Street and approaching the intersection.
According to police, Kyger pulled her 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 into the path of Terrell's 2005 General Motors pickup truck. Terrell's truck struck Kyger's vehicle causing it to spin and strike the stop sign at the intersection.
Kyer told police she thought the intersection was a 4-way stop and did a "rolling stop" at the stop sign. She told police she saw Terrell's truck approaching, but thought he was going to stop, so she continued through the intersection. When she saw he wasn't going to stop, she accelerated but wasn't able to avoid the collision.
Kyer told police that she believed Terrell turned his truck into her vehicle instead of attempting to avoid the collision.
Terrell told police that Kyger flew through the intersection and he was unable to avoid the collision.
Terrell complained of kidney pain but declined medical treatment at the scene and that he would take himself to the hospital for treatment. Kyger was not injured.
She was cited for having an expired registration.
