(SPRINGVILLE) - A Bloomington man was injured Wednesday night after he fell asleep while driving to visit his girlfriend.
The accident happened at 11:48 p.m. on Gasline Road.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 46-year-old Jeremy Levi, was traveling south on Gasline Road when he "nodded off" causing his 2001 Lincoln Navigator to travel off the east side of the road. Levi turned the steering wheel to get the vehicle back on the roadway when the vehicle flipped and overturned in the roadway. The vehicle then slid off the west side of the road and stopped up against some trees and a barbed wire fence.
Levi suffered minor abrasions to his hands and refused medical attention.
