(SEYMOUR) - Construction has started on a new $5 million office building to house the headquarters of a southern Indiana egg producer.
Rose Acre Farms chief operating officer Tony Wesner says the new building in Seymour is needed because the company has outgrown its current office space a few miles outside the city.
The Seymour Tribune reports 80 employees will move into the new headquarters when it opens by early next year. Company officials say no new jobs are immediately planned but the new building is designed to be easily expanded in the future.
Rose Acre Farms started in 1939 and is now among the country's largest egg producers, with 17 facilities and about 1,900 employees in six states.
