(BLOOMINGTON) - A fire caused major damage to a Bloomington garage and its contents Tuesday night.
Van Buren Township Fire Department firefighters were called to the blaze at 10:15 p.m. in the 5300 block of Hoge Drive after the homeowner smelled smoke and discovered her garage was on fire.
The homeowner and her pets were able to escape the home before firefighters arrived.
Van Buren firefighters, assisted by Bloomington and Ellettsville firefighters were able to contain the fire to the garage.
They remained at the scene until about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Firefighters say foul play was not involved but the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
